- I did too till I saw this tape.
First time we ever sang together was at church.
I was like, maybe 14?
And I, you were doing "Praise Him."

- That's right.

I don't know why we started calling him that actually.
- Did you start calling him?

- I don't know how he became Pawpaw, but he's Pawpaw.
- Yeah.
- Either way.
The best thing about my grandpa, I think, for me is his personality and the person that he's shown us to be and he's really funny.
He has an incredible faith and he's passed that down to our dad who's passed that on to us.
- My favorite Pawpaw saying is, "It can't get no gooder."
- I was gonna say that one.
- But that's the best one.
- That's like the only one.
What else does he say?
- I don't.
What else does he say?
- He say, "That's the business."
- Yeah.
That one too.
- That's the only other one- - But I like- - I got.
- "It can't get no gooder."
'Cause it's like- - Yeah, that's the best one.
- Bad English.
But it works.
- Like when I see our grandpa singing with our dad, it's like, I have a dad that can sing.
I have a grandpa that can sing.
We have this whole singing family.
We got to do a lot of things because of that.

I just had a basic assumption.

I married somebody that sings.
I take for granted certain things about their ability, I think.
The kid that has surprised me the most, who do you think it is?

(participant laughs) I'm like, "Where did this come from?"
(participant laughs) - He's younger than me and he's really good at singing.
I'll say he may probably may be better than me at singing.

♪ Mr. Telephone man ♪ There's something wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number - Seeing him actually perform it was really cool.
Makes me feel like really happy 'cause it's fun, especially when you can do something that you love with people you love.
It's like 10 times better than if you were doing something with strangers.
♪ Something's wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time - It has been amazing and a blessing to see them do this so normal, on stage presence, and you know, with an ear for harmony.
But how relaxed they are.
- Them now performing out and people seeing them, especially the people seeing them, people seeing them now, in this context, is gonna be really cool.
(smooth upbeat music) (smooth upbeat music continues) ♪ Mr. Telephone Man ♪ There's somethin' wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time ♪ Mr. Telephone Man ♪ There's somethin' wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time ♪ When I dialed 6-1-1, Repair Service ♪ ♪ She said hello, may I help you please ♪ ♪ I told her something must be wrong with my phone ♪ ♪ 'Cause my baby wouldn't hang up on me ♪ ♪ Mr. Telephone Man ♪ There's somethin' wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time ♪ Mr. Telephone Man ♪ There's somethin' wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time ♪ She let the phone ring 20 times before she answered ♪ ♪ Let me tell you what happened then ♪ ♪ A minute later, I got the operator ♪ ♪ Saying please hang up and place your call again ♪ ♪ Baby ♪ Mr. Telephone Man ♪ There's somethin' wrong with my line ♪ ♪ When I dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time ♪ Mr. Telephone Man ♪ Something's wrong with my line ♪ ♪ Something's wrong with my line ♪ ♪ I try to dial her number ♪ Dial my baby's number ♪ I get a click every time (smooth upbeat music) (smooth upbeat music continues) (smooth upbeat music continues) - I am blessed to have Brian choose songs where the message of the song reaches out to human beings.
And for me, that message is, and that message says, "Live to the full extent of the purpose for which God created you."
I think the lyrics we choose come out of the relationship that we have.
"You can count on me."
"Stand by me."
"You're my hero."
You know, "forever young."
(laughs) So when we perform together, at least for me, I'm not just doing a song, I'm doing lyrics that relate very much to my connection, not just with Brian, but with my grandkids, with Amanda, 'cause you know, they sing with us.
So you know, it don't get no gooder then.
(laughs) It has helped me pay attention to the moments that God give me right now.

But I want everybody in my life to know that they can lean on me.
That when it goes down and you're in the thick of it, you can call me and I'm going to be there.
That's what I want everybody to take away from this.
You just call on your brother when you need a hand.
We all need somebody to lean on, every single one of us.
