Murphy puts hold on police review of body-camera footage

Civil rights advocates are concerned about what may yet be included in measure

Civil rights advocates say they are thankful a bill that was sent to Gov. Phil Murphy’s desk allowing police officers to review body camera footage is now on hold. The governor, who issued a conditional veto on the measure along with several recommendations, says he agrees there are certain times when police officers should be allowed to review the footage from body cameras.
